Horizontec, the first Mexican 100% aircraft plant, the Halcón II aircraft has already performed flight tests.

This year has begun with the assembly of the most emblematic product of the first Mexican 100% aircraft plant, Horizontec, the Halcon II.

The company founded by pilot Giovanni Angelucci has become the first Mexican 100% aircraft plant, and its flagship product, the Falcon II, has already completed several flight tests.

This aircraft plant is located in Celaya, Guanajuato and was the result of a project initiated in 2015.

Just a couple of months ago its "Falcon II" aircraft made its maiden flight, and Horizontec's CEO, Giovanni Angelucci, has stated that the goal is to continue designing aircraft in order to train pilots.

In that sense, the Falcon II is a 2-seater (tandem) aircraft and is intended to be used for recreational flights, surveillance activities but mainly for pilot practice and training.

This aircraft is the predecessor of the Falcon I (made of wood and also with two seats and a 100 HP Rotax 912 engine) but this time with some improvements:

  • 4-stroke turbocharged engine with 140 HP of power
  • It can sustain flights for 5 to 6 hours, being able to reach any part of Mexico.
  • Use of premium gasoline
  • Manufactured from super lightweight materials such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, aircraft aluminum and resins
  • User-friendly control panel with touch screens

Another of the big plans of Horizontec, Mexico's first 100% aircraft plant, is the development of a 5-seater aircraft that would function as a kind of air cab service.
