If you are Mexican and live or work in the United States, but at some point you worked in Mexico and contributed to Infonavit, this information is for you. You can purchase a home in Mexico through the Infonavit Sin Fronteras program.
Infonavit without borders
It is a program created in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other international institutions and organizations. Supporting migrants to acquire a patrimony in Mexican territory.
Payments are made through the following branches: Dolex, Maxi Transfer or Intercambio Express, in a secure manner. The housing institute pays the commissions for sending the money to the country.
Infonavit without Borders contribution conditions
If you paid contributions as a beneficiary between 1972 and 1992 and now live in the United States, you can participate in this program.
You will be able to use the savings in your Infonavit subaccount for the following:
- Acquire a house or apartment, either new or used.
- Subsequently requesting a credit increase.
- Purchase of land for self-construction.
- Refinance a mortgage debt with financial institutions.
Applying for credit from abroad
How do you know if you are eligible for a Borderless credit? You will have to log into your Infonavit account and check your credit balance.
Requirements, if you are accepted for credit:
- Official identification
- Proof of lawful income
- Good credit history in both Mexico and the United States.
- Have at least one year of employment and be able to prove it.
- Proof of having lived for at least six months at the same address in the United States or Mexico.
- Have a family member or legal representative in Mexico.
Credit payments can be made through a family member, a third party or by deposit from the United States.
